Parents with a child on the autism spectrum must be wondering all the time: “How come after all these years of research and still no cure or treatment is made available for autism?”. Actually, it is a complex problem because:
1- “It is currently estimated that 400 (four hundred) genes may be involved in the developmental disorder of autism.” The problem is not to identify a certain gene(s), (there is no one gene for autism), it is the different possible combinations of genes that might be responsible for causing the condition.
2- The same genes causing autism may also be involved with other developmental disorders.
